Whether it's an old-school classic or a recent favourite, cinema alfresco brings a whole new vibe to movie night. I've been to a few outdoor screenings, and there is a reason I keep going back
From the moment I arrived, it felt like the most wholesome kind of night out. Think: deck chairs, snacks and drinks pop-up and the comforting buzz of people settling in under the open sky.
Top tips?
Bring plenty of layers (this is still Scotland, after all).
Don’t forget a blanket and something comfy to sit on—bean bags, cushions, camping chairs, whatever works.
Snacks are a must (alcohol is usually prohibited as it's available to purchase onsite)
And if you're wondering about the weather - yes, they usually go ahead even if there's a wee drizzle. So bring a brolly or a waterproof just in case.
It’s a brilliant way to spend time with pals, a date, or even just yourself. There's something so soothing about watching a good film as the sun sets and the stars start to peek through.
Whether it’s set in a historic courtyard, a city park, or a castle backdrop - outdoor cinema is one to add to your summer bucket list.
