If you're anything like me, you love an activity that leaves you feeling relaxed and gives you something beautiful to take home. That’s exactly what the Paddywax candle-making workshop delivers - a fun, creative escape with a side of dreamy scents.

Tucked away in a charming studio space, this experience is all about slowing down and embracing your inner artisan. You start by picking your favourite vessel, then get to choose from a selection of seasonal and signature fragrance blends - think rich woods, florals, spices, and everything in between followed by the option of a coloured wax to finish off your piece.

The team walks you through each step of the candle-making process, from blending your wax and scent to pouring it into your chosen jar. It’s hands-on but super beginner-friendly, and there’s something almost meditative about watching the warm wax swirl together. This event is BYOB, so bring your favourite bottle and make it more fun.

The best part? You leave with your very own custom candle - a memory wrapped up in fragrance, ready to light at home. And of course, you can pair it with an additional purchase from the shop itself (trust me, it’s hard to resist).

When we popped along, there was a hen do, a birthday, and a friend date happening all at once - proving it's the perfect activity for any occasion.

Pro tip: Your candle will need at least 3 hours to set. We took the opportunity to explore Copper Blossom’s new menu while we waited, so I highly recommend making a full day of it and enjoying more of what Edinburgh has to offer!
